I am spinning in a circle, looking at all of the paths from which I can choose.
My shoes are laced tightly and my heart is dancing in preparation.
I am stretching my body, ready to take off in any direction.
A path that veers around a shimmering lake.
A paved avenue through a sweltering desert.
and a road disappearing into a yellow wood.
The question lingers in the air, Where to run?
There is no heavenly symbol pointing the way.
There are no neon signs to show the right direction.
There is only the sun in the far east, and the sound of my own heavy breathing.
