I went outside in my high heeled boots
and walked across the street
and weaved through the rosebushes
and put pennies on the tracks
and waited for a train.
I balanced with my high heeled boots
and tiptoed on the tracks
and waved at the rosebushes
and saw my pennies waiting
and listened for a train.
I saw the train light up the rosebushes
and froze in my high heeled boots
and stood still on the tracks
and saw the world melt away
and turned to face the train.
I heard the engine yell
and saw my pennies on the tracks
and watched the quiver of the rosebushes
and leaped away in my high heeled boots
and yelled back at the train.
I let the train cars rumble by
and let it make the world loud
and let it make my pennies flat
and let it make the roses dance
and let it make my heartbeat race.
I still heard the engine yell
and I yelled as it grew far
and I walked across the street
and I weaved back through the rosebushes
and I went back inside in my high heeled boots.
