A Few Things to Say Before Bedtime

1. I quite like post-its. I keep a stack of hot pink ones on my bedside table. When I wake up, I check to see what strange thoughts I've scribbled down in the middle of the night. I keep the good ones in a box. I keep the bad ones in the box too. (They might be good ones some day.)

2. I know 33 out of 44 U.S. Presidents in chronological order: Washington, John Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Jackson, Van Buren, William Henry Harrison, Tyler, Polk, Taylor, Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan, Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, Grant, Hayes, Garfield, Arthur, Cleveland, Benjamin Harrison, Cleveland again, McKinley, Teddy Roosevelt, Taft, Wilson, Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, FDR, Truman. Hopefully by Friday I will know the gap between those 33 and George H. W. Bush, Clinton, George Bush, and Obama.

3. I learned that Elephants bury their dead, and then return to the grave site to mourn. Elephants also cannot jump, but that was prior knowledge. They can also hear very low sound waves. It keeps them together when they are far apart.

4. I am regretting 6 big things right now, but I'm too embarrassed to list them. I'll give you a hint for regret number one: check.

5. I have Vivaldi's Gloria repeating in my head, especially the fifth movement. That connects with another regret. I think I'll listen to it as I fall asleep...my hair is still wet. It is making my pillow cold. It smells good. I'm tired.
