sprinklers in the summertime.

Fireworks that split the skies,
ragtime, rock and lullabies.

Hissing snakes and slimy toads,
waterfalls and winding roads.
Pumpkin pie and apple crisp,
wish and weather, wind and wisp.

Lace and linens, buttons, bows,

right or left, nobody knows.

Dinosaurs and birds of prey,

late nights that bleed into day.

Roads not taken, backwood trails,

constellation nighttime tales.
